LAKE ATITLAN AND CHICHICASTENANGO (2 DAYS)
  • Day 1:

Departure on Wednesday or Thursday at 5:30 am

Arrive in Panajachel to enjoy breakfast before beginning the tour.

Then, the boat trip will begin, enjoying the wonderful views around the lake and the volcanoes.

Afterward, you'll visit San Juan La Laguna, where you'll have a unique experience learning about traditional Guatemalan textiles and clothing. You'll learn about the cotton flower and how the threads are obtained, which are then dyed with tree cuttings, fruits, and medicinal plants to obtain 100% natural colors on the fabric.

Later, they will learn to weave and see the finished clothing worn by indigenous people, entirely hand-woven.

Next, you'll visit San Pedro La Laguna, where you'll find a wide variety of traditional shops selling handmade crafts. San Pedro is also known for producing some of the best coffee in the country, as its harvest is located at the foot of one of the volcanoes surrounding the lake.

Finally, you'll visit the famous town of Santiago Atitlán, one of the most interesting sites, where you'll learn about the Mayan religion.


This tour ends at 4:00 pm, after which you'll be transferred to your hotel (Hotel Dos Mundos), which has a pool. Overnight stay included.


  • Day 2:

We'll pick you up from your hotel and take you to the largest indigenous market in Guatemala, Chichicastenango. Here, you'll learn about all things indigenous handicrafts, including traditional clothing, jade, gold, and silver pieces, as well as an incredible market selling fresh fruits and vegetables harvested in the mountains of this beautiful place.


Time in Chichicastenango will be free, so you can shop at your own pace. This market ends at 2:00 p.m., and then the return trip to Antigua begins.


5:00 pm Arrival in Antigua.
